IGCSE History | IBDP History | Theory of Knowledge
Guiding students to produce work that meets the highest standards of assessment and earns excellent results.
My approach isn’t about providing tutoring. My method focuses on providing students with precise, useful feedback on their essays to help them earn top grades.

My Approach
I work with IGCSE and IB students who want a clearer understanding of assessment expectations and how to express their thinking at the level that international examiners reward.
Having examined IB History since 2014 (including EE, IA, and Papers 1-3), and led Theory of Knowledge and Humanities departments at top international schools, I provide examiner-informed feedback that helps students consistently achieve great marks, including 33% (Grade 7), 89% Grade 6/7 for IBDP History with a Global Average of Grade 4.89. For Cambridge IGCSE History (0470), my students have averaged 66% A*/A (global average = 34%). For ToK, 55% of my students receive an A/B grade (global average = 25%).
My approach means that students receive personalised, examiner-informed feedback that helps them achieve the best possible outcomes.
What Makes My Approach Different
My approach is different because every insight comes directly from years of IB examiner experience and senior academic roles. This experience ensures students get the feedback they need to understand how to construct their essays to achieve great results.
Examiner Perspective
Feedback is based on over a decade of IB assessment experience, showing exactly what examiners look for.
Senior Academic Insight
Guidance is shaped by leadership roles in TOK and Humanities, informed by daily experience reviewing and providing feedback on student work.
Assessment Literacy
Learn to interpret criteria, command terms, and evaluation methods instead of simply memorising content.
Academic Integrity
This support is designed to develop independent thinking. There is no rewriting, shortcuts, or predicted grades.
Services
The support I offer is designed to give students examiner-informed feedback that directly translates into better results. This isn’t generic tutoring – I don’t offer weekly sessions or ongoing tutoring.
Instead, I provide detailed and actionable feedback on student work, identifying strengths, areas for improvement, and guidance to help them achieve excellent outcomes.

IB History Examiner Essay Diagnostic

TOK Essay & Exhibition Feedback
Clear, examiner-informed feedback on object selection and commentary, and argument development and criterion alignment for essays. Students receive guidance to help refine their drafts, improve structure, and ensure their work meets the highest assessment expectations.

IGCSE History Support (Papers & Coursework)
Assistance in developing Paper 2 source analysis and evaluation skills with clear and concise feedback. Guidance for maximising marks in Paper 1 responses, especially constructing paragraph writing skills for B and C style answers. Assistance with developing an effective analytical essay style and understanding criteria to maximise results will be provided to strengthen student responses for Paper 4 and the Coursework.
How IGCSE/IBDP Marking & Coaching Works
Students submit their drafts (e.g. IGCSE/IBDP History draft essays, extended responses, TOK exhibition commentaries or essays). Within 48 hours (72 during peak periods), I provide detailed, examiner-informed feedback that highlights strengths, identifies common mistakes/errors, and outlines clear, actionable guidance to improve.
This feedback gives students exactly what to consider, adjust, or improve before submitting their final work, helping them aim for the highest possible grades.
